What is a Clowd "Clipper" Container Ship?
and Why is it important?
A "Clipper Container Ship" is a container ship exactly like container ships today, except, the propulsion system is augmented with a "Quattro Tech" system of removable side-to-side self-managing paired masts with flying clipper ship style wing-on-wing sails. This paired-mast/sail system gets installed after the ship leaves port and un-installed before it enters port, and is self-managing, and designed so that it does not heel the ship. The masts do not penetrate the hull and do not take up valuable container and super-structure deck or hull space.
This means environmentally responsible container ships with NO changes to underlying ship design, no reduction in number of containers, no changes to ports, no changes to docking and no changes to container cranes.
Next generation container ships are designed and built to be optimized for the Quattro Tech wind propulsion system. Existing container ships are easily retro-fitted with the Quattro Tech wind propulsion system for immediate added business value, ROI and ocean and environmental stewardship.
In essence, Quattro Tech wind propulsion system converts container ships to the next millenium of clipper ship: fast, self-managing, ocean-crossing wind-propulsion fitted to existing container ships.

Why the name Quattro Tech?
Based on archeological records, we're entering the 4th millennia of trade by sailing vessels. Throughout all those thousands of years, masts have been located down the center line of the main hull. We have developed this paired, side-to-side self-managing wind propulsion system to meet and exceed the exceptionally challenging needs of global trade in the 4th - Quattro - millennia of sail.

Can you detachably deck-mount masts?
Yes. It is done all the time in some of the most dynamic, flexible, fast and challenging conditions. Please look at the image (not ours) below, and watch the video (not ours) that demonstrates proven implementations.
What you need:
(1) Multi-directionaly pivoting base, and
(2) Off-setting dynamic counter-balance system (for windsurfers: the human body attached at the boom and deck attachment point at the feet; for us: the inward-facing dynamic spars at the top and the deck-mounts of the paired-mast system)
in order to dynamically balance the forces and use them for directional power.

Summary
There is a critical need for more energy efficient, less polluting and de-carbonized container ships.
Our patented Clowd "Clipper" Container Ship wind propulsion system features:
(1) easy retro-fit for existing container ships ... just add 2 specialized containers for each mast
(2) self-righting/orienting sails ... require no sail handling skills
(3) no heeling
(4) no changes to port facilities ... masts get installed after ships depart from port and removed before ships arrive at port
(5) Clipper ship-style sails for fast, versatile configuration of sail area and layout for optimizing for ocean and wind conditions throughout an ocean-crossing.
(6) Less noise pollution from propellers that harms marine mammals such as orcas all the way to crabs.
(7) Less of the damaging ocean-surface gradient mixing from propellers.
